Blog Hop!

It's Blog Hop day and I am linking to Donna McDine
and her Blog
Donna has a book
The Golden Pathway published by Guardian Angel Publishing,
the same publisher who will be publishing my book.
Take a  peek at this chapter book for tweens!

Today, as part of the hop, I am answering these questions about my book
Enjoy, then hop on over to Donna's.

What is the working title of your book?
Olive Ann

Where did the idea come from for the book?

It started out as a book about a donkey...somehow the ears stayed long, but the animal changed and became Olive Ann!

What genre does your book fall under?

Children's picture books

Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?

Hmmm, I think Peppa Pig would make a nice Olive Ann...:)

What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?

Olive Ann is a tiny rabbit who wants to be big, very big.

Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?

Neither...It's a u-Tale (e-books for children)  and can be found at the above link.

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?

2 hours...when I get an idea, I run with it.  But don't ask how many hours of re-writes were involved!

What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?

Hmmm, not sure about that one, but Barb Dragony who illustrated the book also illustrated another u-Tale, written by Sandra Hershenson called Annie and Me.  When I saw her book, I LOVED her illustrations...and the story was cute too!

Who or What inspired you to write this book?

Another toughy!  I began thinking I had a mini donkey who wanted to be big, but I love rabbits and all of a sudden the donkey was a teeny tiny rabbit and after that, the story pretty much wrote itself.

What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?

Olive Ann is quirky, determined, but open to suggestions.  I like that about her and hope readers will identify with her wishes vs. reality and want to read more...she may have more adventures too if all goes well!

  1. Olive Ann just doesn't have the same charm on a donkey. Plus, donkeys look ridiculous in tutus ;) Congratulations again!!
