Tidy Up

Every now and then the clutter becomes too much.  I walk into my craft/guest/work/junk room and trip over a bag of fabric one too many times.  It is then I know it is time to tidy up.  This was one of those days.

This bowl sits on my sewing machine cabinet collecting.....misc stuff.  It amazes me just how much stuff I pull out and then just throw into this bowl. rather than putting it back in it's place.  I would probably be better off without the bowl but there it sits, full of stuff till I put it all away, so I can fill it up again.  As I was emptying my bowl of it's contents, it dawned on me what a creature of habit I am...I spread the contents out and photographed it...do you see a pattern?  All the things are the same colors...yarn, fabric, beads, felt....everything....even the bowl.  I am apparently drawn to these colors...more than I thought.

They say if you buy only those things you love, everything will go together...whether you're talking clothes, household items, furniture, art, whatever.  It must be true because I love the way these things look as a group.  I guess the lesson I learned is, do what they say...buy only what you love...pile it up and you will see what you like...who you are even...... Me? ..........A multi-colored messy person......
