The Excitement

I am always excited when September arrives as in my mind, it's the beginning of fall.  Yes, I know it doesn't really start till the 21st, but for me, I can't end summer fast enough.  I hate heat!




So that's one reason to celebrate!
The other is even better.

Last October, I decided if I was ever to write a book, it needed to be done.

I had played at it for a long long time, but always had a reason to quit...or at least that's what I told myself.  But now, I had run out of excuses and knew I had to do it or die trying.
So I took the plunge.  Yada, yada, yada.  Lot's of stuff happened which may turn up in a future post but the important thing is that

with the advice of some very kind friends (thanks Katherine), I slowly began to make contacts, join groups,  and write.  Well, I am thrilled beyond belief to report that I have a book contract for not one but TWO children's picture books! 

I KNOW!  Can you believe it?  It's super exciting.  There will be details coming as things
progress, but the publishing wheels turn very slowly I am told so I don't want to get ahead of myself.
I hope you will check in from time to time as publication gets closer so that I
can reveal the names of the books, publishers etc.
In the mean time, enjoy the colors, the light, the crispness, and the feel of fall.  It's the best time of the year, and as far as I am concerned, it begins tomorrow!
