I Scream, You Scream....

...We all scream for ICE CREAM!

And today I am posting the world's easiest home made ice cream recipe given to me by a delightful friend who makes it for her family all the time....because it is super simple and really really good.
I liked it so much I bought the nicest new ice cream maker...
The Cuisinart Ice cream Maker.  It's fabulous!  I bought it on sale at Crate and Barrel.  It makes 1 1/2 quarts.  You place the bowl in the freezer for 24 hours.  Remove it and fill with custard.  Place it in the Cuisinart, but in on and let it freeze for 20 minutes...Voila!  I put the soft ice cream in a plastic container and let it harden a bit in the freezer, but it's really ready to eat in 20 minutes if you like it soft.

You can make any kind you want....add fruit or candies or cookies too.  And you don't have to cook the custard!

Here's the recipe....make some tonight....it's HOT out there!

Mrs. Smith's Ice Cream

Note:  this recipe is for a traditional crank ice cream maker and makes close to a gallon.  I cut the recipe in half for the Cuisinart and made about 1 1/2 quarts.

Mix 2 1/2 cups sugar, 2 pints whipping cream, 3 small cans evaporated milk, 1 teaspoon vanilla, 2 small packages vanilla instant pudding mix together with a wisk.  Pour into freezer container and add milk to the fill line mixing all together.  Freeze per freezer instructions.  To make a different flavor, simple change the pudding flavor!  If you add cookies, candy or fruit,  freeze first and stir in just before the freezing is complete.   I made caramel by using brown sugar...it was so tasty!  It's super creamy.

  5. Hello! I understand this is sort of off-topic but
I needed to ask. Does running a well-established website such as yours require a
large amount of work? I am brand new to operating a blog but I do write in my
journal every day. I'd like to start a blog so I will be able to share my personal experience and thoughts online. Please let me know if you have any kind of suggestions or tips for brand new aspiring blog owners. Thankyou!

  6. For me, writing a blog is like being self-employed (with no pay of course!)...you can do it as much or as little as you want. I write out posts as I think of them, then post a couple times a week. It is work, but if you like doing it and it serves a purpose, even if that purpose is just enjoyment, it's a good thing. One good suggestion is to find blogs with similar interests as yours and post comments there. Invite them to visit yours and trade off as guest bloggers...everyone wins!
